I have a 89 mazda rx7 and just want to know if the rotary engine is serviceable?
Mine still works great but in case it ever breaks I would like to know if it is rebuild-able if it breaks down. I understand if the engine hits the bucket its done but I saw some engines that have been rebuilt and refurbished on the market for sale. Anyways
As Xex said, it depends on what took a dive. Fortunately, only the RX-8 has the crappy side exhaust ports which keep blown apex seal pieces trapped and tumbling around inside the engine, ensuring a trashed rotor, housing and at least two irons.
